A northern Minnesota mailman has been charged with burglary and bestiality after camera footage showed him engaging in a sexual act with a dog in early February while he was delivering mail to a customer. Brian Louis George L. Chapman, 21, of Polk County was allegedly caught on CCTV having sexual intercourse with the animal in a resident’s garage.

The unnamed resident said Chapman was spending a lot of time in his garage, which heightened his suspicions, KSTP reported. He had expected Chapman to drop off the packages and leave, but instead, Chapman did the total opposite. The owner looked into his surveillance camera at one point and saw the postman broke into his garage and began performing sexual act with his dog, according to the criminal complaint.

Chapman was charged with a second-degree burglary felony as well as bestiality, a misdemeanor over the Feb. 6 incident. A Polk County sheriff’s deputy also watched the footage and confirmed what the owner saw.

In Minnesota, burglary in the second degree can carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a potential $20,000 fine. Bestiality, which is classified as a “misdemeanor,” carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Last month, an animal shelter worker from Louisiana was arrested after allegedly having sex with a dog. The 24-year-old woman, who was “charged with principal to crimes against nature,” reportedly recorded the entire act on video, KLSA reported.

In January, a 30-year-old firefighting clown was also arrested for allegedly having sex with a dog. He had since resigned from his job as a firefighter in Muskogee, Oklahoma, which also had him dressing up as a clown to teach children about fire safety.

Animal sexual abuse is quite common. Between 2009 and 2013, in 32 U.S. states, 77 bestiality cases were reported, according to Pet-Abuse.com. Animals that were involved include dogs, puppies, cats, horses, foals, goats, pigs, show hogs, lambs, cows and mice.
