Love, music and weed: That’s what can stop ISIS in its place, Shaggy said. While promoting his new single "Go F--- Yourself," the self-proclaimed Mr. Boombastic shared his thoughts about the Islamic State militant group, also known as ISIS, in an interview with Miami New Times Monday.

When asked if his song was about ISIS, he said the group is at a “level of evil” he cannot comprehend. “That’s some crazy s--- what they’re doing. It’s horrible, man,” he said. “I don’t get that much hate.”

Shaggy, whose real name is Orville Burrell, said everyone has a cause worth fighting for -- but ISIS has taken it to the extreme. "Taking their heads off and filming it ... that’s a different level of evil right there.”

Marijuana

Luckily, he has a solution: Reggae and marijuana will solve everything. “There’re two things you want to do when you listen to reggae: You get somebody pregnant, or you’re f------ high. High people don’t want to kill nothing; they want to love. They need to bag some Jamaican weed and distribute it amongst ISIS. I guarantee there won’t be any more wars out there. ... And throw some Bob Marley up in there and there’ll be peace,” he said.

If they’re using Shaggy’s suggested remedy, ISIS fighters will prefer to make love and get high over killing someone. “Music evokes emotion. So if they’re listening to Shaggy music or reggae music, they’re not going to want to cut somebody’s head off,” he mused.

Shaggy hasn’t released a new album since “Out of Many, One Music” in 2013. “Boombastic” in 1995 and “Hot Shot” in 2000 are two of his most popular records, with the latter selling 6.7 million copies. The entertainer has promoted himself on his Instagram page, where he shared clips of his live shows and pictures with friends.
