The Shiba Inu Metaverse, or Shiberse, unveiled in February, will have "future passive utility," one of the developers has teased.

The latest news about Shiberse's Shiba Lands came directly from a developer who goes by the name Eric M., or Penny, while talking on the Shiba Inu Discord.

The developer seemed to suggest that owners of Shiba Lands may earn passive income. They mentioned "future passive utility for lands." They also said, "There are some huge movements that will happen in the next months. Lands by itself will be [a] passive with the new implementations we are working [on]."

Unfortunately, this is the only detail the developer revealed. However, industry watchers believe the passive part could be about the passive income that virtual land in the Metaverse could deliver.

Other Metavese projects are already advertising passive income through virtual lands. Owners of these virtual lands or real estates can lease their spaces, use them to launch virtual businesses, or even hold events on them. The developer could also be referring to the passive benefits in the form of exclusive access to various ongoing and upcoming projects of the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

On February 8, Shiba Inu officially announced Shiba Lands. "We are happy to announce and proudly introduce Shiba Lands ! These ' lands ' found inside our Metaverse will be available for purchase/auction really soon, and it will be our first step towards allowing the community to jump into the Metaverse prior to its full release," the team shared in a blog post.

"Owning a piece of Shiba Real Estate will bring an array of benefits! We are not stopping, this is just the beginning. More information on this will be shared soon," the team further hyped.

Shiba Inu was trading up 2.38% at $0.00002345 with a 24-hour volume of $871,668,989 as of 2:31 a.m. ET on March 22 based on the data from CoinMarketCap.
