  • Hours after Janelle's post, she and Kody Brown confirmed their separation

Janelle Brown created her sister wife Christine Brown's signature rolls for dinner.

Janelle, 53, borrowed Christine's signature dish before confirming her separation from Kody Brown. She shared a snap of a pan full of crescent rolls Sunday, just hours before she and Kody confirmed their separation.

"Making Christine's rolls for Sunday dinner with the Flagstaff kids," Janelle wrote in the caption of a photo she shared on her Instagram Stories, Us Weekly reported.

In the teaser for the "Sister Wives: One-on-One" special, Janelle and the Brown patriarch gave an update about where they stand in their marriage. They said they were no longer together for months.

"I think if we both really sat down, we'd look at each other and say, 'Really?'" Janelle said in the clip from the episode, which will debut on Sunday, Dec. 18. "We've been separated for several months."

Kody also confirmed to Sukanya Krishnan their separation. "Yes, we are separated," he said. "Janelle has made it pretty clear to me that she's enjoying her life without me."

Kody and Janelle were spiritually married in 1993. They share six children, Logan, 28, Maddie, 27, Hunter, 25, Garrison, 24, Gabriel, 21, and Savanah, 18.

Janelle and Kody's separation came less than two years after Christine also left him. Kody and Christine announced their separation after 27 years of marriage in November 2020. Janelle seemingly found herself caught in the middle after Christine left their polygamous family.

"It's been a bit of a civil war. The whole family in a war," Kody said during the "Sister Wives" season finale. "I'm looking at Janelle, wondering whose side she's on."

For her part, Janelle, who maintains a close friendship with Christine, said that she felt uncomfortable being around the remaining sister wives.

"To be honest with you, I really don't know if I want to do the work," she told her family. "It feels like I'm being forced to choose between my children and this group. I don't feel like my children are welcome."

Kody clashed with his and Janelle's sons Garrison and Gabriel during the coronavirus quarantine. He told them they couldn't join them for Christmas unless they apologized for disrespecting his rules.

"At the end of the day, I think I'd rather be with my kids. [And] you're getting upset with me," Janelle said. "There's a strong pull to just run away and do the easy thing."

She added, "I don't even recognize this family. Something has really changed for me."

Christine and Janelle have maintained their friendship. The pair even reunited at Logan's wedding to his longtime girlfriend Michelle Petty in October.

"Christine and I at Logan and Michelle's wedding last night. Such a beautiful day," Janelle captioned a photo of them from the event on her Instagram Stories.

Kody is still in a relationship with his other two wives — Meri Brown and Robyn Brown.
