With a week off before the May 6 episode, “Saturday Night Live” has just announced the musical guest for the final episodes of Season 42. While we already knew LCD Soundsystem would be joining Chris Pine on the upcoming show, the final two guests were a big surprise.

Joining host Melissa McCarthy on the May 13 “SNL” episode will be rock band HAIM, who haven’t released an album since their debut project “Days Are Gone” in 2013. For the season finale, Katy Perry will take the stage when Dwayne Johnson hosts “Saturday Night Live.” The pop star has not-so-secretly been working on her next album.

HAIM was vocal about their excitement to return to the long-running series, tweeting, “To top it all off @MelissaMcCarthy is our host.” The band last performed on the show in 2014. Katy Perry has yet to comment on the news, but expect the singer to reveal some new details about her album soon.

When “SNL” returns on May 6, the series will continue with its new live coast-to-coast format that it started on the April 15 episode hosted by Jimmy Fallon. The experiment proved to be successful for NBC as the episode averaged 7.9 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic, the network said in a statement.

According to NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt, going live across the nation allows fans everywhere to enjoy the show together. “That way, everyone is in on the joke at the same time. Kudos to Lorne Michaels, the producers and cast for making SNL one of the most relevant and anticipated shows in the zeitgeist,” he said.

The final three episodes of “SNL” will air at 11:30 p.m. EDT, 10:30 p.m. CDT, 9:30 p.m. MDT and 8:30 p.m. PDT on NBC.
