So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 premiered on Monday night with six dancers who wanted to try their luck in the hit FOX reality TV competition and succeeded.

Mark Villaver, a contemporary dancer, was the first contestant to be featured on the show. He danced impressively while wearing an all-black ensemble. But according to TV Line, Villaver’s routine was very easy to forget, especially since there were several other contestants who did much better than him after his audition.

Jazz dancer Alexis Gilbert appeared to be quite nervous before going up the stage. But the minute she started dancing, it seemed like everything fell into place for her. Gilbert performed a beautiful routine to Bishop Briggs’ song, “River.”

Robert Green was also one of the audtionees who performed on the “So You Think You Can Dance” stage. His moves were similar to those of Fik-Shun and Twitch, and he obviously gave the judges a wonderful and exciting performance. However, Green has to come up with something even more exciting and unique if he wants to advance to the next couple of rounds.

Real-life couple Kristina and Vasily danced gracefully, and it was obvious how comfortable they were with each other. Kristina and Vasily’s Latin ballroom performance instantly won the hearts of all three judges, Nigel Lythgoe, Vanessa Hudgens and Mary Murphy.

Twin sisters Anastasiia and Viktoriia also made it through to the Academy. They performed a modern routine that wasn’t always synchronized, but was quite impressive. After they danced, Anastasiia and Viktoriia also proved to be sister goals. They hugged each other and were obviously very proud of the other as well.

But one of the most memorable contestants from the Season 14 premiere was Darius Hickman. The contemporary dancer lived through a tumultuous childhood because of dance. His routine was both so technically stunning and moving that he easily earned his ticket to the Academy.

So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
