“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is the last film that will end the sequel trilogy. The movie is expected to focus on the final battle between the First Order and the Resistance. However, at the heart of it is a human story about the lead characters. New details about the film have surfaced online, revealing a romance between two main characters.

Finn’s (John Boyega) journey began with an unlikely friendship with first the Resistance pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and later with Rey (Daisy Ridley). The events in “The Force Awakens” seemed to suggest that Finn and Rey will eventually get romantically involved, but the addition of Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) in the sequel made it difficult to guess who the former Stormtrooper will end up with.

Sources who are familiar with the production of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” told Making Star Wars that Rose is Finn’s romantic interest in the film. It is not clear if the two will be seen as a couple in the film or if their relationship will evolve into a romance slowly.

Rose’s influence on Finn will help him get the motivation he needs in the upcoming film. A source revealed that he now has “something to fight for.”

As far as Rose’s role in the Resistance in concerned, the source revealed that she will be in a “command” position. Her role will also keep her away from Finn for some time in the film. Tran was also not seen in the final shot with Ridley, Isaac and Boyega on the last day of filming.

Apart from the romance, Finn will also be involved in some of the main action sequences in the film. The actor previously shared a picture of his dirt and blood covered hands on Instagram and teased that the team was able to achieve “something visually crazy” on the set that day.

Tran too may have a major role to play in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” At the Celebrations event, director JJ Abrams said that the “greatest thing” that Rian Johnson did for him was cast Tran, People reported. The actress also got a standing ovation at the event, and she was overwhelmed by it.
