  • Bethesda is reportedly planning to release "Starfield" in 2021
  • A new image allegedly taken from "Starfield" surfaced online
  • A Microsoft executive seemingly confirmed the gaming platforms that Bethesda games would release into

Following Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax Studios, more details about Bethesda’s “Starfield” surfaced online, including leaked screenshots, gaming platforms and even its release window.

One of the major questions following Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda’s mother company ZeniMax is if its upcoming games would be exclusively released on Microsoft Windows and Xbox. Earlier, the Redmond-based tech titan said that they would decide about Bethesda games’ exclusivity on a case to case basis. Interestingly, Xbox Gaming Partnerships and Ecosystem VP Sarah Bond noted something interesting about this in a new blog post.

“One of the things that has me most excited is seeing the roadmap with Bethesda’s future games, coming to Xbox console and PC, including “Starfield,” the highly anticipated, new space epic currently in development by Bethesda Game Studios,” the executive said. It is worth mentioning that Bond did use the word exclusive in the blog, which could mean the game could still release on PlayStation.

However, it still sounds like Bethesda games are only coming to Xbox and PC. Meanwhile, several alleged screenshots of “Starfield” surfaced online recently. Three images are allegedly taken from “Starfield” were shared on Imgur. The images feature a spaceship, a character in a spacesuit attire standing beside the ship, a stamina and stealth bar displaying in the corner, and a picture of some kind of carbon dioxide meter also seen in the player’s corner’s screen image.

The same tipster shared a new image on Imgurthis time, another character shown in a third-person perspective, seemingly looking a structure in space. Several “Starfield” fans believed that these images could have been taken from the game’s 2018 early build since they appear looking rough and flat. The same tipster claimed that Bethesda is eyeing to release the upcoming sci-fi game in 2021.

If the tipster’s claim is accurate, this is good news to “Starfield” fans and “The Elder Scrolls 6’s” fans. Bethesda previously said that more information about “The Elder Scrolls 6” would be available after the launch of “Starfield.” The upcoming sci-fi title is the first original RPG from Bethesda in over two decades. “Starfield” is currently in development and anticipated to launch on Xbox Series X, PS5 and PC.
