The New England Patriots (5-2) are still the favorites to win the Super Bowl, but the defending champions are followed close behind by the upstart Philadelphia Eagles (6-1). According to oddsmakers, the Patriots have 7/2 odds of winning the NFL title, while the surging Eagles have 7/1 odds.

In Week 7, the Patriots defense had one of their best showings, holding the defending NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons to just seven points. It was a major boost for a unit that has mostly struggled this season, after allowing 42 points to the Kansas City Chiefs (5-2) and 33 points to both the Houston Texans (3-3) and Carolina Panthers (4-3).

The Eagles, meanwhile, reaffirmed their status as the team to beat in the NFC East by cruising to a 30-17 win over the Washington Redskins (3-3) on Monday night. The lone loss for Doug Pederson's squad was a 27-20 setback on the road to the Chiefs in Week 2.

The Patriots have 8/5 odds to win the AFC, while the Eagles are listed at 3/1 to win the NFC.

While the Eagles have been a big surprise, the Los Angeles Rams (5-2) have seen a huge jump. In preseason, the Rams had the fourth-worst odds to win the Super Bowl. With a 5-2 record, Los Angeles now has the 10th-best odds (25/1).

The New York Giants (1-6) are among the biggest disappointments of the season. The Giants had the eighth-best odds to win the Super Bowl to start the season, but after some tight defeats to begin the season, and after a slew of injuries, New York has the fifth-worst odds (125/1).

But the most intriguing team remains the Green Bay Packers (4-3). With quarterback Aaron Rodgers injured in Week 6, the Packers' chances of winning the Super Bowl have plummeted. The Packers have just 40/1 odds, but Rodgers could still return late in the season and vault Green Bay back into the title race.

Also in the Super Bowl hunt are the Pittsburgh Steelers (8/1), along with the Seattle Seahawks (4-2) and the Chiefs, who are both at 10/1.

Kansas City's hopes to took a hit after a heartbreaking defeat to the Oakland Raiders on Thursday, 31-30. The Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos (3-3) on Monday, and then travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys (3-3) before their Week 10 bye.
