With two weeks in-between football games, several prop bets for Super Bowl LVI are receiving a lot of action. Bettors are putting money on the coin toss, the first play of the game and special teams props in the days leading up to kickoff between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals.

At the start of Super Bowl week, the proposition of the opening coin toss landing on either heads or tails is among the three most popular bets at Caesars Sportsbook. More money has been wagered on whether or not Super Bowl LVI will go into overtime than most other prop bets.

Super Bowl LI in 2017 is the only time in the game’s history that overtime decided the NFL champion. The New England Patriots made the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, overcoming a 28-3 deficit to defeat the Atlanta Falcons.

Cincinnati’s kicker is surprisingly the subject of a popular prop bet. Most of the wagers are picking Evan McPherson to make at least two field goals. The rookie has made four field goals in all three playoff games.

“In 20-odd years of doing this, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a kicker prop in the top 10 of props,” said Craig Mucklow, vice president of trading at Caesars Sportsbook. “At the moment, McPherson over total field goals made is the seventh-most popular prop by tickets. He’s been money, and seeing a kicker in the top 10 is fabulous because it just shows how much interest he’s garnered.”

More than 90% of the wagers on the prop bet have sided with McPherson’s over.

Here’s a look at some of the most popular Super Bowl 2022 prop bets. Betting odds come from Caesars Sportsbook.
