Jeremiah (Dean Cain) returns home in Season 2, episode 14 of “Supergirl.”

The synopsis for the episode, aptly titled “Homecoming,” reveals that Jeremiah is finally rescued from Cadmus. Thrilled to have their father back, Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) arrange a family dinner to celebrate their reunion. Things, however, go wrong when Mon-El (Chris Wood) starts to question Jeremiah’s sudden return.

While Mon-El isn’t really in the position to question Jeremiah’s unexpected comeback, the Daxamite’s iffy feeling about the Danvers patriarch may actually help Kara and Alex to step back for little while and see for themselves how much Jeremiah has changed since the last they were with him.

“He’s been under Cadmus’ control for the last 12 years. [So] the Jeremiah that we see might not be exactly what people expect,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly of Jeremiah last July.

Kara, Alex and their mom Eliza (Helen Slater) had thought for a long time that Jeremiah died while on a mission in a remote location in Peru. But in Season 1, episode 17, titled “Manhunter,” J’onn (David Harewood) learned while trying to erase Jim Harper’s (Eddie McClintock) memories that Jeremiah was still alive and being kept at Cadmus.

It was confirmed that he’s still alive when Kara was reunited with him in Season 2, episode 7, titled “The Darkest Place.” In the installment, Jeremiah helped Kara and Mon-El escape from Cadmus. Kara begged Jeremiah to come with them, but he insisted that he had to stay behind. It’s unclear why Jeremiah decided not to escape with Kara and Mon-El at that time. Hopefully, his reason will be revealed in episode 14.

“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 14 is directed by Larry Teng from a story written by Caitlin Parrish and Derek Simon. It airs on Monday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
