Four teenage girls from Louisiana were arrested Saturday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old girl, which they live-streamed on social media.

The murder happened at a Walmart store in Lake Charles, Louisiana, said a report by New York Post.

The girls, aged between 12 and 14, were involved in a fight with the older victim, following which they fatally stabbed her. While a 13-year-old was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder, three other girls, aged 12, 13, and 14, were arrested on charges of being principals to second-degree murder.

According to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, at around 7:30 p.m., the deputies were called to the store, where they found the girl suffering from a stab wound. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she was declared dead on arrival.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso said the whole incident was played out on social media. "The videos, photos and posts were very disturbing. The Facebook Live video of the killing helped detectives easily solve the case," Mancuso said.

However, the police refused to clarify who posted the video. "Because the videos contain juveniles, we are not going to comment on how the videos got on social media or who or how many girls were in the videos,” the spokesperson said.

The footage of the incident shows the girls standing in the home section of the store, apparently waiting for the victim. When she approaches, she and the 13-year old girl starts fighting and cursing each other. Seconds later, the victim is on the floor, bleeding.

A girl, thought to have filmed the video, was heard screaming "Oh, Lord Jesus Christ" as they try to flee. They were also heard screaming that they "just stabbed somebody at Walmart."

“We just stabbed that (expletive). We don’t give a (expletive). We just stabbed that (expletive) in her heart,” the girl was heard screaming. Another footage shows the girls munching on popsicles as they continue to disparage the victim. Investigators believe the argument may have started at a nearby movie theater.

As part of the investigation, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff had released the name of a suspect, with a clarification that they did so as "the incident was an unusual occurrence and was for the safety of not only the public but the juvenile in question."
