When Tesla CEO Elon Musk gave a rather ambiguous teaser of the upcoming Tesla pickup truck, imaginations ran wild. The teaser showcased a rather simple and boxy outline with interesting razor-thin headlamps. But what really got people excited was Musk’s reference to the iconic movie "Blade Runner" to give people an idea of what Tesla’s futuristic truck would look like.

It’s not hard to imagine that Musk would want something totally different for the Tesla pickup, which is why some concept designers went all out to interpret what the chief engineer could have in mind. The results include a badass concept from designer Turkish designer, Emre Husmen. Husmen released his vision of the pickup in his Behance account and Tesla fans are taking it with much enthusiasm.

The concept design is gorgeous. The Tesla pickup definitely won’t feel out of place in a sci-fi movie with its powerful stance, high ground clearance and cyberpunk design which is exactly how Musk described the new upcoming truck would look like.

Since there is barely any other information about the Tesla pickup, analysts and motoring fans are gushing over Husmen’s design. Yanko Design noted the concept’s sheer attention to detail of the supposed Model P 2019 (the pickup is expected to be introduced this year). Notable features include the obvious absence of the radiator grille (since it’ll be fully powered by electricity), the spacious four-door setup and a noticeably smaller truck bed.

The design is so bold and extraordinary that some are thinking the concept design is actually better than the real one. Apart from the teaser image, Tesla analysts have no other reference to compare it with. The boxy, hard-lined design tweeted by Musk was downplayed when it was first released. Electrek reported that the teaser alludes to an extraordinarily long hood and it would probably have a large “frunk” for enclosed cargo.

Then there are those who believe that Tesla might be coming out with a semi-based pickup truck based on a design shared by Musk about two years ago. Some also believe that the cyberpunk details could be toned down as the company might have a hard time selling an unconventional vehicle.

So far, what’s attractive in both the concept design and Musk’s teaser is the razor-thin headlamps which definitely give it an overall futuristic feel. Knowing Tesla, we can definitely expect something innovative once the company decides to officially release the new vehicle sometime this year.
