KEY POINTS

  • The Buccaneers and Seahawks played in the NFL's first regular season debut in Germany
  • Fans inside the Allianz Arena showered the visitors with a lot of love
  • Both teams will have an extra week of rest as they enter their bye weeks

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady led his side to a 21-16 victory against the Seattle Seahawks.

While he has played in a ton of stadiums and arenas throughout his illustrious 23-year career, Brady had a ton of compliments for the German crowd at Allianz Arena.

"That was one of the great football experiences I've ever had. Says a lot for being 23 years in the league. For a regular-season game, I think the fan turnout was incredible. It felt very electric from the time we took the field," Brady said.

He also mentioned how "epic" it was to hear American classics like Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline"and John Denver's "Country Road" reverberating throughout the home stadium of Bundesliga team Bayern Munich.

"I think everyone who was part of that experience got to have something, pretty amazing memory for their life. Thank you for hosting us," Brady later added.

Brady, his Buccaneers and the Seahawks are all a part of history as the Week 10 game marked the NFL's first foray into Germany during the regular season.

The winningest quarterback in NFL history is not alone in his sentiments about the crowd as many fans on social media also shared their love for those in attendance while being amazed at the energy they displayed throughout the contest.

Avid soccer fans will note at this point that European crowds have always had a slight advantage over their American counterparts as they can produce unique chants from seemingly out of nowhere.

It should be noted at this point that the leagued already dipped its toes in German waters after playing a total of five exhibition games in the past–the last being an August 13, 1994 clash between the New York Giants and San Diego Chargers.

The Buccaneers are slowly but surely regaining their foothold after putting up their second two-game winning streak of the season with the first happening during Weeks 1 and 2.

At the Allianz Arena, the Buccaneers utterly dominated the Seahawks for much of the game as they jumped to an early 13-0 lead, with Seattle recording their first score via a field goal in the third quarter.

The Seahawks would score their first touchdown of the game at the 8:20 mark of the final frame and fought back to within five points after a second touchdown on a fourth-and-one gamble from Geno Smith and wide receiver Marquise Godwin to remain in striking distance at 21-16.

However, the Buccaneers drove down the field to run out the play clock for the win.

Both teams will have an extra week to recuperate from the experience as the Buccaneers and Seahawks enter their bye week.

For Brady and the Buccaneers, they next face the Las Vegas Raiders on November 27 for Week 12.
