Manchester United will have one less thing to worry about with Alexis Sanchez permanently moving to San Siro. The 31-year-old player has agreed to a three year deal with Inter Milan, formally ending his forgettable stint at Old Trafford.

Failing to live up to expectations since moving to United in 2018 from Arsenal F.C., Sanchez now gets the chance to start anew with I Nerazzurri. Sanchez was part of a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Arsenal but floundered. He scored just five goals in 45 games at the time. He was loaned to Inter for the 2019-20 season and started slowly. A reason for that is he was injured. But somehow, Sanchez got it together and played splendidly at the football restart, Sky Sports reported.

It appears that effort was enough to convince Inter management to reward the Chilean football player. Antonio Conte was delighted with the move, someone who helped Sanchez recover from the worse moment of his career.

"The club deserves credit because he came at the worst moment of his career. He arrived after two difficult years when he was really struggling at United and then got injured with us," Conte said to Sky Italia via Goal. "We took the time to get him back on track, so it is only right for Inter to enjoy it and reap the rewards of that effort."

With the development, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could only wish Sanchez luck with his new club. He acknowledged that the Chilean was one of the top players today but unfortunately things did not work out for him and the Red Devils.

“We wish him all the best and he is a top player who we want to see play his best football. For whatever reason we didn’t see the best of him here, but he’s a top professional and we wish him all the best,” Solskjaer said.

Sanchez's departure also meant that the iconic no. 7 shirt is available once more. Ironically, this was the same number worn by Jadon Sancho, United's top target. There is no clarity on whether the Red Devils can get this deal done. If they fail to come to terms, Solskjaer already has alternatives in mind. Much of this was mentioned in a previous post.
