KEY POINTS

  • Newcastle United is ready to shell out big money to acquire Kieran Trippier
  • Everton lack funds to close a deal with Atletico Madrid
  • Manchester United could use Trippier to improve their rotation

If Kieran Trippier is serious about making a return to the English Premier League, there are reportedly multiple teams ready to grant his wish.

Although the 31-year-old has been making his mark for Atletico Madrid in La Liga, Trippier did not hide the fact that there is a burning desire from within to return to the Premier League.

Aware of that desire, there are reportedly five teams interested in helping the English right-back fulfill that wish.

Among the teams identified include Everton, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle United, 90Min reported.

Of the four identified teams, the Magpies are reportedly the frontrunners for Trippier.

The report went on to claim that Newcastle United is willing to spend as much as £150,000 ($198,00) a week to get the Englishman to their side, the Northern Echo reported.

Manchester United is another team that appears to be in serious pursuit although it was not mentioned just how much the Red Devils are willing to shell out to get the English player to Old Trafford.

Acquiring Trippier could bolster the options of the Red Devils at the position currently manned by Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diego Dalot.

The same holds for Everton, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Trippier played a key role in helping Atletico Madrid win their 11th La Liga title.

While the Magpies have the funds, it remains that some top stars are unsure of making the switch and being part of a revamp.

Manchester United would be a plausible move although Trippier’s place in the rotation is a big question.

The big question for all teams concerned is the money that Atletico Madrid will be seeking. But as far as a move that makes sense, Everton appears to be the best option if Trippier wants ample exposure.

The Toffees need a right-back and Trippier ably fills that need. But as repeatedly pointed out, they may not have the financial resources to get the English defender from the Indios.
