Transfer Rumors: ‘Operation Mbappe’ May Gain Ground Following Messi Arrival To PSG

Paris Saint-Germain caught a big fish when Lionel Messi arrived from Barcelona.

But even before that, the attention was on Kylian Mbappe who has been linked to a potential move to Real Madrid.

As of this writing, nothing close to that has happened. However, this is still subject to change.

Josep Pedrerol, someone who has been accurate when it comes to dropping bombshells, suggests that the 22-year-old will continue to push for a move to Los Blancos despite the acquisition of Messi.

There was the growing belief that the signing of the Argentine star could sway the mind of Mbappe.

But Pedrerol claims otherwise. In fact, he brought it up a notch by alleging that the French forward will ask Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to open negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain.

But all that depends on whether PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is open to negotiating a deal with Real Madrid for Mbappe.

Les Parisiens is believed to be reluctant to embark on talks, but all that could change if Mbappe pushes for it.

Hence, the only way for any Mbappe transfer talks to progress is for the French forward to pressure PSG to sell him to gain any headway, MadridistaReal reported.

Los Blancos are believed to be taking the cautious route since they do not want to pester PSG about Mbappe.

Hence, the move entirely depends on the forward if he is bent on returning to Santiago Bernabeu.

Financially, Real Madrid has the funds to push for a Mbappe transfer this summer. Los Blancos came close to winning La Liga and reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League thanks to the efforts of Karim Benzema.

Adding Mbappe would be a big boost to their future chances moving forward. However, all of that still depends on what the Frenchman truly wants.

All it takes is one whisper from him and a potential blockbuster transfer could be in the making.

All eyes will be on Mbappe on Monday when PSG faces Strasbourg in a Ligue 1 matchup.
