  • Alexis Sanchez new energy has been helping Inter Milan
  • Inter Milan taking small steps before granting permanent deal to Sanchez
  • Manchester United may get reprieve if Sanchez continues run with Nerazzurri

Alexis Sanchez has finally gotten his act together and is showing the way for Inter Milan. Though he is still on loan, his performance has done wonders for Nerazzurri since the football restart. And if he keeps it up, the Chilean football player may even end up doing Manchester United a big favor.

For now, it is too early to tell. Inter is taking it one step at a time. However, it cannot be discounted that the 31-year-old has been holding up the fort well for Nerazzurri. Though he is not completely back to his old form, Sanchez is one of the reasons why Antonio Conte got a guaranteed top-four finish.

The development has been surprising for Inter considering Sanchez's career seemed to be going nowhere. Before the season came to a halt, Sanchez accounted for a single goal and two assists way back in September of last year. He had only two Serie A starts in the first three months of 2020, signs that the 31-year-old could be seeing a career decline. But somehow, the COVID-19 break reinvigorated the Chilean football player.

When football action resumed, Sanchez has been turning in neat performances. So far, he has scored twice and has had seven assists. This led to Sanchez getting the vote of confidence of Conte. That included match-winning performances against Brescia, Torino and SPAL.

With a new direction, the future of Sanchez has suddenly turned bright. However, Inter is taking it one step at a time. A loan extension is the first step in the Chilean's renaissance through the possibility of a permanent move to Nerazzurri could happen. For that to happen, Inter must pay United a hefty $22 million.

Before Sanchez took it up a notch, most speculated that he would be facing an uncertain future. A return to Old Trafford made no sense with the Red Devils preferring to move him out than take him back in. His early showing with Inter further strengthened that belief.

The only option seen on the table right now is for Sanchez to play on with Inter. And from the looks of it, that is on course to happen and potentially lead to something better.
