  • Kai Havertz plans to meet with Bayer Leverkusen to push for a move to Chelsea, a report said
  • Havertz reportedly wants to train early under Frank Lampard and is not willing to wait until after the European matches to move to Stamford Bridge
  • Chelsea will be negotiating with Leverkusen regarding its asking price for Havertz

Kai Havertz appears determined to move to Stamford Bridge at the earliest possible time. The 21-year-old midfielder reportedly plans to talk with Bayer Leverkusen management soon to speed up a deal. However, it appears that the problem that lies ahead is the $88 million asking fee of Die Werkself.

According to a report from German outlet Bild, Havertz plans to meet with Leverkusen bosses once he returns to training. The club has been on holiday since the end of the Bundesliga season in June. They return to training this week ahead of the Europa League campaign set to happen next month.

Unfortunately, it appears Havertz is not willing to wait until after the European matches to move to Stamford Bridge. He is trying to fast-track his move to Chelsea, seeking permission from Die Werkself management to allow him to join the Blues, the report said. But that request is easier said than done.

For Leverkusen, meeting its asking fee of $88 million would make things easier. But Chelsea is trying to negotiate for a lower price.

Chelsea technical advisor Petr Cech is reportedly set to fly to Germany next week once the Blues' Premier League season concludes on Sunday. Cech will likely try to negotiate a deal with Leverkusen representatives.

Leverkusen is hoping to still have Havertz around when the club faces either Inter Milan or Getafe. Winning the Europa League could boost Die Werkself's chances in the Champions League, and Havertz could help them achieve that.

Unfortunately, Havertz seems bent on bolting the BayArena as early as now so he can settle in London. It would also allow him to have a full pre-season with Frank Lampard. If he continues to play for Leverkusen, he would only have three weeks to prepare before the 2020-21 campaign begins.

This is one development that Leverkusen is dreading but also something that appears imminent. The club is already on the prowl for replacements. One name they have in mind is Reinier Jesus Carvalho of Real Madrid.

As mentioned in a previous report, Real Madrid is offering the 18-year-old to Leverkusen in preparation for Havertz's impending exit. Talks have already started between the two clubs in what could be a potential loan deal.
