When Trent Alexander-Arnold was asked to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the Liverpool FC star defender came up with a priceless answer that left his Twitter followers amused.

The Reds have tasted massive amount of success since their triumph in the UEFA Champions League last year in Madrid. They have gone on to win two more titles – UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. They are now six wins away from clinching their first Premier League title in 30 years. Alexander-Arnold has established himself as a key part of the group that has been unstoppable in England, having won 24 from 25 matches with a lone draw against Manchester United.

In very less time, Alexander-Arnold has become an integral part of this Liverpool side and there are no surprises that he is very popular among the Reds fans too. After Alexander-Arnold reached one million followers on Twitter, he celebrated the milestone by having a Question and Answer session with his fans on the social media platform.

He was asked a range of questions including "would you rather play with Messi or Ronaldo?” Who is the best among the two legends is easily the oldest debate in soccer with no particular answer to it. A cheeky and clever Alexander-Arnold answered by naming his Liverpool skipper Jordon Henderson. Although when he was later asked to reveal his toughest opponent so far, the 21-year-old Merseyside-born player took Messi’s name.

The defender then went on to hail Steven Gerrard as his idol while naming Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane as his non-Liverpool idols.

Liverpool’s senior team, currently away for the winter break, are back in action Saturday when they travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich City.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are 22 points clear on the top in the Premier League table with 13 matches remaining in the season and the English right-back has played a key role this season. Alexander-Arnold has the second-most number of assists (10) after Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne (15) in the ongoing 2019-20 season apart from the two goals he has scored.
