President Donald Trump confirmed that he will be looking into the news about the possible existence of UFOs.

In an interview on Sunday, Trump spoke about Pentagon's new special task force aimed at investigating unidentified flying objects. The Department of Defense announced in August that a new task force, a group Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, will be investigating UFO sightings.

"Mr. President, as we wrap up here, are there UFOs?" Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump.

"Well I'm gonna have to check on that," the president replied.

"I mean, I've heard that. I heard that two days ago, so I'll check on that. I'll take a good, strong look at that."

Trump also noted that the UAPTF has equipment "the likes of which we've never had before."

"Russia, China, they're all envious of what we've had," he added. "As far as the other question, I'll check on it. I heard about it two days ago actually."

The queries and speculations concerning unidentified flying objects began shortly after Pentagon released three videos of "unidentified aerial phenomena" back in April. It was followed by a number of incident reports from the Navy about encounters with UFOs, Insider noted.

In a series of videos released by Pentagon, aircraft cameras from the Navy captured black shapes floating and accelerating at incredible speeds against the wind. The videos, named FLIR, GOFAST, and GIMBAL, all show footage of dark, oblong shaped objects floating and moving at great speeds. These said videos have then been leaked, prompting the Navy to confirm in September the authenticity of the footages.
