Trump Says He’s Banning Three Top Media Companies From The White House, Warns Other Will Follow

President Donald Trump said on Friday that he will ban three top media companies in the U.S. from White House coverage.

"I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico (The recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription, an All Time Record, directly from the United States Government, under Crooked Joe Biden, in order to keep them "alive." Seems like corruption to me!), from the White House as a result of their constant "reporting" FAKE NEWS!" Trump said in a social media publication.

"Media Outlets shouldn't be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they're covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America," he added, warning that other outlets are set to follow.

There did not seem to be a clear catalyst for the decision. It follow's Trump's decision to keep journalists working for the Associated Press from the Oval Office, Air Force one and other events that are small for a full press corps. The ban followed the outlet's refusal to start referring to the Gulf of Mexico as Gulf of America. The AP filed a suit over the matter, with the case still ongoing.

Trump frequently criticizes media outlets over coverage he does not deem favorable and has filed several lawsuits over the years. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the BBC and others are some that have been on the receiving end.
