Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been dating for more than three years, and it appears the couple is in no rush to get married. In a new interview, the 49-year-old singer revealed she isn’t ready for a luxurious wedding just yet.

Following her divorce from Gavin Rossdale in 2015, Stefani began dating Shelton after his split with then-wife, Miranda Lambert. Since then, the couple has appeared to have a strong bond, but the No Doubt singer revealed she and the I’ll Name the Dogs” singer are content with their titles of boyfriend and girlfriend rather than husband and wife.

During an interview on the “Today” show, Stefani revealed that while she and Shelton are not engaged, she hopes they will end up together in the long run. At one point during the chat, Natalie Morales asked the “Hollaback Girl” singer if she thinks her relationship with Shelton will last forever to which Stefani replied, “I hope so, yeah!”

Stefani went to explain why she and Shelton don’t feel the need to get married at the moment. “There is zero pressure … when there’s trauma, the way that we had trauma back in the day,” she said of past relationships.

“Going through all these hard times, [you] get to a place where you find somebody that’s like your best friend, that you know you can depend on and trust and go through life — we’re just trying to be in the moment as much as we can.”

Shelton and Stefani are expected to celebrate Christmas together, but because their successful careers have allowed them to buy anything they want, they won’t be exchanging presents this year.
