Twitch looks to capitalize on the excitement of Super Bowl weekend with a special “Fortnite” pro-am tournament that will team streamers with professional football players ahead of Super Bowl LIV.

Twitch announced Friday that it will be holding a Twitch Rivals “Fortnite” tournament, titled the “Streamer Bowl” on Jan. 30. The tournament will pit 16 teams in “Fortnite’s” duos mode competing for a prize of $500,000 that will be donated to the winning team’s charity of choice.

It will be streamed on Twitch from the NFL Players Association party in Miami, along with an official Twitch Rivals channel and the individual streamers’ channels. The tournament begins with a special pre-game show at 5 p.m. before the game starts at 6 p.m.

Streamers chose their NFL teammate in a special “draft” from a pool of players that qualified on Thursday and consist of:

  • Symfuhny and D.K. Metcalf
  • Dr. Lupo and Keenan Allen
  • Tfue and Kyler Murray
  • Nick Mercs and Mike Evans

  • Clix and Tarik Cohen
  • NickEh30 and David Morgan
  • Reverse2K and Baker Mayfield

This is the latest in what is already schedule to be a packed week for Miami during Super Bowl week.

“Super Bowl Live” and the “Super Bowl Experience” will both be running from Jan. 25 to Feb. 1 at Miami’s Bayfront Park and the Miami Beach Convention Center, respectively.

“Super Bowl Live” is a free fan-fest offering live music and shows all week, headlined by Fitz and the Tantrums.

“Super Bowl Experience” is billed as “pro football's interactive theme park” designed around the player experience.

A golf tournament will also be held at Miami’s Melreese Golf Club where the winners will receive four tickets to Super Bowl LIV. Teams will consist of four members and entry is $6,000 per team and is being sponsored by the The First Tee of Miami and The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade.
