The internet has been abuzz with casting news that involved Charlize Theron’s confirmed participation in the highly anticipated eight installment of the “Fast and Furious” movie franchise. One of the film’s cast members has recently revealed his thoughts about the actress’ inclusion in “Fast and Furious 8.”

When Theron’s involvement in the film was announced, many fans were thrilled to have another veteran star join the movie. Cast member Tyrese Gibson was also excited with the actress’ participation in “Fast and Furious 8.” He shared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight during the WE Day held in California on Thursday, April 7, that he was happy to see another actress join the film. Gibson also commented on how the movie franchise had featured a lot of male celebrities in past installments.

He mentioned that Theron’s casting has increased the film’s “girl power.” Gibson explained that the upcoming movie needed “some more women” given its mostly male-dominated cast. “We got to change this thing up a bit. We have bits and pieces of power women in it, but we needed to bring it up a notch,” he continued.

Gibson, who portrays the character Roman Pearce in the film, also shared that he and other cast members already knew of Theron’s casting before the announcement was made. He admitted that he, as well as other co-stars, has had to keep it a secret. Meanwhile, he also conveyed a warm welcome to the “Mad Max: Fury Road” actress. “Welcome to the family,” he stated during the interview.

The actor also took to Instagram to share a cute selfie with Theron soon after the actress’ casting announcement was released. In the photo, Gibson and Theron were photographed hugging each other. He captioned the image, “The best hugs........ Family business comes with family secrets I've had to keep my lips sealed about Charlize..... Of all things were excited about more #GIRLPOWER!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the #FastFamily you're most welcome here!!!

Theron is set to play the film’s villain, however, details about her role has yet to be disclosed. “Fast and Furious 8” is expected to hit movie theaters on April 14, 2017.
