KEY POINTS

  • Tyson Fury was unimpressed by Oleksandr Usyk's win over Anthony Joshua Saturday
  • Fury could come out of retirement to face Usyk in a potential four-belt unification bout
  • He still holds the WBC heavyweight title, something that could interest Usyk

It appears that Tyson Fury is not retiring after all. The "Gypsy King" is looking to fight again, with Oleksandr Usyk in his sights as his next opponent.

The 34-year-old former heavyweight champion was one of the many spectators who watched Usyk defeat Anthony Joshua via a 12-round split decision at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Saudi Arabia Saturday to retain the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles.

Aside from those titles, the 35-year-old Ukrainian boxer also won the Ring heavyweight title, which Fury vacated after he announced on Aug. 12 his retirement from boxing for the second time in less than four months, ESPN reported.

But now, it seems that Fury wants a fresh shot at possibly retaining the Ring title. On Saturday, he took to social media to criticize Usyk and Joshua over their performance while announcing he was no longer retired.

"After watching that, the both of them was s--te," Fury said. "It was one of the worst title fights I have ever seen. They were bullshit. Come on. I annihilate both of them on the same night. F---ing s--te. Get your f---ing checkbook out, because 'The Gypsy King' is here to stay forever."

It remains to be seen if a Fury-Usyk fight will progress after the "Gypsy King's" rants.

Fury first announced his retirement in April. This came after his knockout win over Dillian Whyte to retain the WBC, Ring Magazine and lineal heavyweight titles, CBS Sports reported.

However, Fury had a change of heart in August and attempted to make a boxing comeback against Derek Chisora. However, negotiations failed to gain any headway, and the potential fight died down even before negotiations could start. This led to Fury announcing his retirement for the second time.

Fury and Chisora had met twice in the past, with the former winning both fights.

For now, Fury still holds the WBC heavyweight title, something that may interest Usyk.

Assuming that the camps of Fury and Usyk can agree, fans could see the first four-belt unification fight in heavyweight history.
