  • Cristiano Ronaldo now UEFA Champions League top scorer
  • Juventus advances to the KO stages after beating Leverkusen
  • He won the tournament four times with Real Madrid

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo is looking forward to sharing the pitch with Real Madrid again. Unfortunately for him, the team won’t be on his side.

The superstar striker didn’t mince his words in naming his former team as the club he prefers to go up against in the final of the UEFA Champions League. In an interview with Sky Sports, the 34-year old Portuguese revealed that he would love to meet his former team – but this early isn’t just the right time.

“'Real Madrid are an extraordinary team, but I'd rather see them later,” said Ronaldo. “I'd sign up to meet them in the final,” added the future Hall of Famer.

In their recent match, Ronaldo led Juve to pull off a 2-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored on a pass from Paulo Dybala in the 75th minute of the match for its first goal of the game before striker Gonzalo Higuain scored inside the penalty area during injury time to settle the final score.

The match, however, didn’t go too smoothly for the Turin-based squad as a fan went on to the pitch and took a chance of having a selfie with Ronaldo but he pushed the fan away and was seen holding his neck after the security took over the situation.

With the victory, Juventus topped group D with five wins and a draw and that gave them the opportunity to advance to the KO stages with Ronaldo’s team for nine seasons where he embarked his place in the football world as one of the best in the world.

Ronaldo had scored 311 goals in 292 games in the Bernabeu before he moved to the Serie A giant. He is now the tournament’s all-time top scorers with 128, including his stints with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
