Angela Haley-Harris, Aniah’s mother, said her daughter had driven from Auburn to North Alabama with her brother to attend a funeral that morning, NBC News reported. She added that Aniah told a friend that she was going to meet a young man that she had just met that Wednesday night.

However, the young man’s identity remains unknown. Upon investigation, Aniah’s debit card records show that her last transaction was at a convenience store located on South College Street. Her phone went off three minutes before midnight.

She was then reported missing by her family on Thursday.

Aniah’s stepfather Walt Harrris shared photos of Aniah on his social media page on Thursday, urging his 30,000 followers to share in hopes of obtaining any information.

"Please help find my baby Aniah Blanchard. She is missing [in] Auburn," Harris tweeted. "Please help!!!! Any info message me on here or call the Auburn police. PLEASE SHARE THIS!!!!"

The Auburn Police Department released a statement announcing that on Friday shortly after 6 pm, a local resident found Aniah’s car at a Montgomery apartment complex on Boardwalk Boulevard.

Police released photos of the vehicle which showed damage to the front right fender and scrapes on the passenger-side door. Police confirmed that the vehicle had no damage when it was last seen on Wednesday night.

Auburn Police Captain Lorenza Dorsey told the press that while the vehicle has been recovered, Aniah has not been located.

"The investigation continues regarding her disappearance. At this point, there is no evidence of foul play. However, the investigation will continue until her whereabouts are determined,” Dorsey concluded.
