  • The UFC executive lauds Askren's accomplishments both as a wrestler and a mixed martial artist

UFC president Dana White hasn’t always had a peachy relationship with Ben Askren, but it looks like he’s siding with the mixed martial artist in his boxing match against YouTuber Jake Paul.

Askren and Paul are scheduled to meet each other in a highly-publicized bout this coming April in Atlanta.

Askren fought in the UFC in 2019but was a world champion in promotions such as Bellator and ONE Championship prior to his stint inside the Octagon.

Paul, meanwhile, is a YouTuber-turned-professional boxer with two pro bouts under his belt. In his most recent outing, he went viral for knocking out former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. event.

Appearing on Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast along with former world champion Zab Judah, White made it known that he doesn’t see Paul winning the fight.

“Jake Paul isn’t a f*cking boxer, this guy’s a f*cking YouTube kid,” White said.

Judah appeared to side with Paul, saying that the YouTuber has put the work in.

“He be workin’ hard though, he be workin’ hard. I watched him, I’ve seen him put it together,” Judah stated.

However, White didn’t seem convinced and reminded everyone of Askren’s accomplishments.

“The kid that he’s gonna fight, he’s a wrestler, a decorated wrestler, but he’s actually fought real guys, he’s been a world champion in other organizations,” White stressed.

White then went on to wager a million dollars that Paul would get beat.

“I’ll bet a million dollars that he loses this f*cking fight,”

Askren will indeed be getting some much-needed help in preparing for the Paul fight as he will be working with legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach, who coached world champions such as Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto and Amir Khan.
