An undefeated UFC welterweight could be just a few steps away from stardom.

Khamzat Chimaev is among the rising stars generating quite a buzz lately. Following his stunning submission win over Jing Liangli at UFC 267, he went on to call out some of the biggest names in the promotion.

However, just when everybody thought that Chimaev is just another UFC fighter learning his trade and yearning to add a huge name to his resume, he came up with a fascinating story about his fighting roots.

In recounting how his first fights went down, Chimaev implied that though he is a bit new in the UFC, he is no stranger to being undefeated.

According to the Swede, he already had his fair share of street fights even as a kid. What’s even more interesting, Chimaev claimed that he “never lost a fight.”

“Everyday, we had fights on the streets of Chechnya,” Chimaev recently told Hustle MMA. “We created history for ourselves on the streets. I’ve never lost a fight. Thank God, not yet. I definitely didn’t with my character.”

“I fought with the boys,” he continued. “I still know this guy. We are friends now. He is in the 11th grade. I’m in the 5th grade. He was not that big but bigger than me anyway. I’m near the school, I don’t remember, there was a brawl. I say let’s go and we went. He started throwing me from right to left for about 10 minutes. Then he got tired and I started hitting him.”

As it stands, Chimaev has been vocal about his desire to step inside the Octagon once again. He has a wide array of fighters on his radar, particularly Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor.

McGregor has no problems taking on Chimaev, but “The Notorious” is still not cleared to make his return.

Diaz, on the other hand, has refused to face him and even referred to him as a “rookie” in the UFC.

Nevertheless, UFC president Dana White assures that Chimaev will soon be getting the fight he deserves.

“Listen man, Khamzat is a straight murderer,” White raved. “He’s a killer. He’s an absolute savage. And I don’t blame anybody for not wanting to fight Khamzat Chimaev. He’s one of those guys that’s, you know, willing to fight anybody and in multiple weight classes.”
