  • Apple will reportedly launch a new Apple Card payment plan
  • Upcoming payment plan will cover other Apple products, according to a new report
  • There is no confirmed date yet when Apple plans to launch the new Apple Card payment plan

The Cupertino-based tech giant is planning to extend the financing features of the Apple Card. Unlike in the past, Apple will allow customers to purchase products like AirPods, MacBooks, Macs and iPads on a monthly instalment basis, according to a new report. Payments will be handled using the Apple Wallet app's Apple Card section and will be added to the monthly Apple Card bills of the customers.

The latest report about the Cupertino tech giant’s plan of expanding the features of the Apple card came from Bloomberg. It looks like Apple is planning to roll out similar iPhone instalment plan using the Apple Card in all the products with the company’s logo on it. Interestingly, the upcoming instalment plan would not be in the same 24-month period like that with iPhones.

However, it is worth noting that it is a massive improvement compared to paying the entire thing in one sitting. The upcoming Apple Card 12-month interest-free instalment payment plan will be available for iPad, Apple Pencils, Macs, Mac XDR monitor and iPad keyboards. Meanwhile, the six-month interest-free offering would be available on Apple TV, AirPods and HomePod.

In other words, if the Apple Card instalment payment plan pushes through, those who wish to purchase an Apple Pencil 2 would only pay around $10.75 a month. For the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with 1 TB storage, interested buyers could just pay around $137.41 in 12 months instead of paying $1,649. A pair of AirPods would only cost $26.50 a month while purchasing HomePods would only let buyers pay $49.83 every month for six months.

Apple has not yet released a statement related to the report. Bloomberg claimed that the latest set of information about the Cupertino tech giant’s plan of expanding the features of Apple Card came from people familiar with the company’s plan. Earlier, Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the earnings call to investors that the company is working on Apple Card payment plan for other Apple products. The Cupertino-based tech juggernaut introduced the Apple Card in partnership with Goldman Sachs in Aug 2019. Users enjoy a digital card linked to their Apple Wallet card and a physical titanium-made card.
