A New York couple who recently vacationed in the Dominican Republic is missing. Two weeks after the pair left their hotel overseas, their family has no answers regarding their whereabouts.

Orlando Moore and Portia Ravenelle, who headed to the Carribean on March 23 from Newark, New Jersey, were set to leave their hotel, the Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa in Samana, on March 27 and head home to Mount Vernon. However, though they checked out of their hotel, they never made it to their flight. Their car has remained at Newark Liberty International Airport.

NBC reports the couple had a rental car in the Dominican Republic, but there's no sign of the vehicle. Officials confirmed that there is no record of them getting back to the U.S.

Moore's sister, Lashay Turner, alerted authorities, and said via NBC, “We’ve been calling DR and they said they didn’t make their flight. We also spoke to someone in U.S. Customs and they said my brother did not make his flight back here.”

Moore's grandmother, Edith Walters, added, "When these things happen, you always think of the worst, but we are hoping for the best."
