That’s a wrap! “The Vampire Diaries” has officially finished filming. The cast and crew of the CW show went on social media to share their goodbyes with the fans.

Fans knew the end of “TVD” was coming soon. After all, former star Nina Dobrev finished shooting her series finale return earlier this week, and she wrote a heartfelt note to fans. The rest of the cast wrapped on Wednesday night.

Paul Wesley shared a photo with onscreen brother Ian Somerhalder in front of Damon’s car. He also thanked the fans for their support through eight seasons.

Meanwhile, Somerhalder kept fans updated on filming with Facebook Live. The Damon Salvatore actor made several video updates throughout the end of filming. He also revealed that he didn’t leave the set until the early hours of the morning. Of course, he also thanked the viewers.

Candice King posted a video of the last day sign on set as well as a photo of the cake the cast and crew enjoyed. The dessert looks like the town of Mystic Falls, complete with tiny people and Damon and Stefan’s cars. It seems King’s daughter Florence was also impressed by the cake.

Showrunner Julie Plec also shared a photo of the cake along with a short message to fans.

Kat Graham ended her eight-year run by giving wrap gifts. She gave out Foster Grant sunglasses, a brand for which Graham is a spokesperson. She also thanked audiences by posting a fan-made video of Bonnie’s most powerful moments.

Matt Davis recorded a short video before filming his final scene as Alaric. “I just wanted to check in with you, say hi and let you know it’s been a wonderful ride,” he said.

Though it seems that just the main cast members were filming on the final day, plenty of guest stars will appear in the final episodes as well. David Anders (John), Sara Canning (Jenna), Kayla Ewell (Vicki) and Michael Trevino (Tyler) have all been spotted in Atlanta with the cast on social media.

“The Vampire Diaries” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW, and the series finale will debut March 10.
