‘The Vampire Diaries’
Those who missed Damon (Ian Somerhalder) can watch some of his deleted scenes from Season 8 in the Blu-ray and DVD of “The Vampire Diaries.” The CW

It’s been months since “The Vampire Diaries” aired its last episode on The CW, and fans of Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) have definitely missed them.

Fortunately, TV Line released a never-before-seen clip from “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 that is also on the blu-ray and DVD copies of the installment. The deleted scene features Damon and Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) as Elena enjoying a trip around Mystic Falls. However, the romantic moment ends when Damon suddenly tries to control Sybil’s mind.

The publication noted that the scene did not contain that much information about Damon or any of the characters from the hit CW series. But it is worth watching since it is never-before-seen footage of Damon.

Meanwhile, “The Vampire Diaries” aired its final episode sometime in March and saw Damon and Elena turning back into human beings. While speaking with the same publication, executive producer Julie Plec explained her decision to write Damon and Elena’s characters in such a way.

“I think there’s some terrific fan fiction to be written about Damon’s first years as a human, but he was ready for it. He wanted it. He wants her. And when all is said and done, after going through such a trauma, to be able to grow old and die with your one true love is beautiful solace in an otherwise difficult time,” she explained.

Plec also talked about the couples that were linked to each other and then broke up. Some of them reunited in the finale, regardless of whether it was romantically or otherwise. “The couples that we loved, whether we broke them up or let them live happily ever after, were all important to us. We wanted to give a nice, respectful nod to each of them and say, ‘You are as important as the next one.’ It was important for us that Stefan and Elena got a proper goodbye, but also Stefan and Caroline didn’t get overshadowed by Stefan and Elena. It felt like the right thing to do,” she said.
