Now that Serena Williams is retiring, many are wondering how rich she is and who is wealthier between her and her sister Venus, who is also a tennis superstar.

Here's what we know about Serena's and Venus' fortunes.

Serena will retire from tennis with a $260 million net worth, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

She is leaving her career as the second highest-paid female athlete, with $0.9 million on-the-field earnings and $45 million off-the-field earnings in 2021, behind Naomi Osaka who has $2.3 million on-the-field earnings and $55 million off-the-field earnings, according to Forbes.

The 40-year-old has so far earned over $90 million in career prize money — twice as much as any other female athlete made. In a typical year, she would reportedly generate $30 to $40 million from on-court earnings and endorsements.

Retiring should be relatively easy for the tennis superstar because aside from her on-court and endorsements, she has invested in numerous businesses during her career.

Serena has investments in more than 60 startups, including fintech companies Propel and Cointracker and consumer product companies Billie and Daily Harvest, through her venture capital firm Serena Ventures.

She currently sits on the board of SurveyMonkey's parent, Momentive, and is also the advisor of NFT company Sorare.

Serena also owns a small stake in UFC and the football team Miami Dolphins.

Throughout her career, Serena has won 23 singles Grand Slam titles. She also ranked number one in the world eight times.

Venus' net worth is lower than that of her sister, but it is safe to say that her fortune is also pretty impressive. Celebrity Net Worth reported that she has a net worth of $95 million, while Forbes valued her net worth at $11.3 million.

The 42-year-old ranked World No. 1 in singles three times and was the first Black American woman to achieve this feat during the Open Era.

Off the court, Venus typically makes between $5 and $10 million per year from endorsements.

Outside tennis, Venus has an apparel line called EleVen. She also owns a small stake in the football team Miami Dolphins.

Together, Serena and Venus have so far won 14 Grand Slam Women's doubles titles.
