Manchester United held off a tough Norwich City club to complete a club-record 19th-straight home league win streak, 2-0, on Saturday, at Old Trafford.

Anderson broke a scoreless match in the 68th minute with a header, while forward Danny Welbeck scored in the 87th minute, off a fine assist by Ji-Sung Park, to make the result look more respectable.

Before the final whistle, Wayne Rooney had an excellent chance to score, but his right-footed chip shot floated over the crossbar. Perhaps the best United highlight was seeing Rooney back in action, along with forward partner Javier Hernandez, though neither proved to be very effective.

For stretches of the match, Norwich looked like the more confident club. Manchester United didn't seem to get a strong enough performance from the defense and the wings.

Norwich's Anthony Pilkington had some great chances. One included the winger taking a shot that deflect off Anderson and onto the post.

Manchester United took 20 shots with four on goal, while Norwich took 17 shots with three on goal. The Red Devils had possession for 68 percent of the match.

After the two week break, United will travel to Anfield to face Liverpool, while Norwich host Swansea.

The Premier League standings are tight at that the top. Manchester United and Manchester City both have a record of 6-0-1, but the Red Devils lead based on goal difference.
