Their marriage has been through the wringer the most on “Sister Wives,” and now, on the newest episode of the show, it will become clear that no matter how much progress they may make, things likely will never get back to a good place for Meri and Kody Brown.

In a preview clip for the newest episode of the show, Kody, Meri and Robyn are once again back out on their Coyote Pass land, and it seems like they are once again trying to plan for their future on the property. However, much like the last time they were all there when misunderstandings about where each wife wanted to live on the land led to a major blowout fight between the wives and Kody, things don’t seem to go well this time either.

While it’s unclear what may bring the tension this time around, it seems as if Kody and Meri have a disagreement somewhere—and it only serves to highlight the lack of intimacy their relationship still has.

“My relationship with Meri is, at best, just distant and amicable,” Kody says in the clip.

As for why things are still so distant between them, it appears that Kody may still be harboring something of a grudge from her Catfishing scandal after their divorce—and that he thinks that if they truly wanted to be more romantically involved as a couple they wouldn’t let anything stop them.

“If Meri and I really wanted to be together, we would,” he says.

“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
