A wrestler in Western New York was launched several feet outside of the ring by his opponent in a match over the weekend, and video of the incident has since gone viral.

Anthony Gaines, an independent wrestler from Cheektowaga, faced off against Ace Romero, also known as Acey Baby, on Saturday at the Empire State Wrestling "Summer of Sleaze" event in North Tonawanda, New York. The two competed for the Interstate Championship.

The 15-minute match intensified when Romero collided with Gaines, sending him flying almost 14 feet out of the ring and into a cameraman, New York Upstate reported. Gaines, listed at 5-foot-11, 207 pounds, bounced off the ropes and ran towards Romero, who is at least 100 pounds heavier.

Gaines got the worst of the collision and is seen flying out of the ring in a 12-second version of the clip pinned to his Twitter profile. The video, featured above, has garnered over 1.6 million views as of writing and was also featured on ESPN Wednesday.

"Last night @TheAceyBaby pounced me into absolute oblivion. 14ft deep up the isle way. I demanded stiff competition and @ESWWrestling made me eat my words,” the wrestler tweeted from his official account.

Gaines continued the fight after flying into the aisle and eventually retained his ESW Interstate Championship title and belt.

Empire State Wrestling is the "premiere independent wrestling promotion in the Buffalo-Niagara region and beyond," according to its official Twitter page. Founded in 2002, Empire State Wrestling promotes up to 12 shows annually with crowds of over 400 fans, its Facebook page read.
