Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd, broke into the music industry through YouTube in 2010. His popularity grew exponentially after Canadian rapper Drake posted his songs on his blog. Today, he is one of the most recognized names in the music world. But how rich is he?

The "Starboy" singer is one of the highest-paid entertainers in the world today, according to multiple news outlets.

In a given year when he is touring, he could reportedly earn $90 million before taxes.

Since he debuted, the four-time Grammy winner has sold over 70 million records in the United States alone. His hits include "The Fall," "Wasted Times" and "Blinding Lights."

The Weeknd is now on tour promoting two albums, "After Hours" and "Dawn FM." According to Bustle, he could earn $1.2 to $1.4 million from each show of his After Hours til Dawn Tour.

Outside of his music career, The Weeknd has also been involved in various entrepreneurial pursuits, including the creation of his personal brand called XO. He has also collaborated with brands such as A Bathing Ape and designers such as Alexander Wang.

In 2019, The Weeknd signed on to be a partial owner of OverActive Media Group, a Canadian esports company running several esports teams in the U.S. and Canada.

In 2021, he launched an NFT collection that included audio-visual items, traditional artworks and even an unreleased song. In one 24-hour auction, he earned $2 million, making him one of the biggest winners in the NFT field.

The Weeknd has a net worth of $300 million, as per the Celebrity Net Worth.

This week, The Weeknd canceled his tour stop in Los Angeles after losing his voice during the show, Variety reported. The singer made it through only four songs before he cut the show short at around 9:30 p.m.

Later, he apologized to his fans on Instagram and promised them a new concert.

"My voice went out during the first song, and I'm devastated. Felt it go, and my heart dropped. My deepest apologies to my fans here. I promise I'll make it up to you with a new date," he wrote.

The Weeknd's next concert will happen on Sept. 22 at Rogers Centre in Toronto, according to the artist's website. There is no new date yet for the canceled Los Angeles show.
