Salem
A newly resurrected Mary reunites with a loved one in the “Salem” Season 3 premiere. Watch episode 1 on Nov. 2 at 9 p.m. EDT on WGN America. WGN America

Heathens, “Salem” Season 3 is only a few weeks away from airing its season premiere. Recently, WGN America shared a fresh batch of photos for the upcoming episodes of the horror series, and they reveal that Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery) will soon be reunited with her son, John Jr. (Oliver Bell), who is now a vessel for the devil.

In the photo Mary (see below) is seen happily cradling the devil/her son. Is she really happy to see him? However, before meeting her son, Mary, who died last season after sacrificing her life in exchange for resurrecting John Alden (Shane West), must be bought back to life.

A photo shows a blind and battered Tituba (Ashley Madakwe) desperately holding a dead Mary. Tituba is a powerful witch and even without her eyes, it looks like she will play an important role in resurrecting her former friend.

The last season of “Salem” showed Cotton Mather’s (Seth Gabel) new wife Anne Hale (Tamzin Merchant) stuffing her familiar down his throat. However, in the Season 3 photos, Mather seems to be himself. He’s even seen strolling the streets of Salem with his new bride. He certainly doesn’t look battered and incapacitated like Mary’s now dead husband George. Is he under her spell? Has Cotton joined the devil (it seems unlikely)?

Season 3 photos of “Salem” also show a bright and radiant Mercy (Elise Eberle) wearing a beautiful red dress. She seems to have somehow got her hands on a consistent supply of blood from young girls.

“Salem” Season 3 kicks off with Mary’s resurrection. Elsewhere, Alden will lead a group of militia on Hawthorne’s (Jeremy Crutchley) orders. This militia will be in charge of defending the town against the French, the Native Americans and of course, the witches.

Elsewhere, Tituba will join the fight against the devil when she imbues the power of a seer.

“Salem” Season 3 premieres on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 9 p.m. EDT on WGN America.
