Chrissy Teigen’s most devout fans are aware that the model has been on bed rest for the last few weeks due to her pregnancy, but over the weekend, they learned that the 34-year-old’s condition took a scary turn.

On Sunday night, the model shared several videos on her Instagram Story detailing the excessive bleeding that she has experienced throughout her pregnancy, and how it has put her baby boy in a precarious position.

“So, we all know I’ve been on bed rest for a few weeks. And that’s like super serious bed rest, like get up to quickly pee and that’s it. I would take baths twice a week, no showering... I was always, always bleeding,” Teigan began her series of posts.

“I’m about like halfway through pregnancy and the blood has been going on for like a month...maybe a little bit less than a month. But we’re talking like more than your period, girls, but definitely not spotting. A lot of people spot, and it’s usually fine. Mine was a lot.”

However, Teigen revealed that the bleeding she experienced on Sunday was far from normal for that of a pregnant woman. “But today, the big difference was that it kind of was like if you were to turn a faucet onto low and leave it there,” she explained.

“It’s so weird because I feel really good. I’m usually at my happiest pregnant, mood-wise. I feel happier than I do not pregnant. That’s why it’s so, so hard for me to come to terms with... It was at the point today where it was just like never stopping bleeding, and that’s obviously very bad,” she continued.

While Teigen has been open about some of the complications during her pregnancy, she revealed that she has not shared every detail. During her series of posts, she requested that online doctors stop trying to diagnose her or telling her what she is doing wrong via social media.

“You have to trust me that I have very good doctors who know what they’re doing, who know the entire story. There’s so much more than you guys can ever, ever imagine,” she said. “I share a lot, but not absolutely everything, ok. So trust me when I say they know and I just want to keep things so simple for you guys.”

Teigan, who is already a mother to daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2, did her best to explain why she was being hospitalized.

“I guess in the simplest of terms, we can say my placenta is really, really weak,” she said. “I feel really good. The baby is so healthy, growing stronger than Luna or Miles. He moves a lot. He moves so much earlier than they ever did...He’s so different than they were.”

Teigen added, “He’s so strong. I'm so excited for him because he’s so wonderful, the strongest little dude. So, I can’t wait for him.”

The model revealed that at the beginning of her pregnancy, her baby boy “didn’t have the strongest chance,” but the doctors are doing everything they can to make sure he has “a lot of fluid around him and that I’m resting.”

The model admitted the situation has been difficult, but if the baby can make it through the next few weeks, he will move out of “the danger zone.”

Teigen noted that she has been taking several vitamin supplements and doing everything she can to help her baby. Luckily, she has her husband, John Legend, who has been by her side throughout the entire ordeal.

The couple announced they were expecting their third child in August.
