A lot of changes will occur in the royal family if Queen Elizabeth II dies.

The Queen is already 93 years old and she is still strong and healthy. However, the people couldn’t help but discuss the possibilities on what will happen to the royal family when the monarch passes away.

According to Christine Younan of Daily Star, here are some of the things that will happen when the Queen dies.

Prince Charles takes over the throne

Prince Charles is the heir to the throne. When Queen Elizabeth II passes away, the Prince of Wales is expected to take over the throne.

Prince Charles and Camilla are expected to move to Buckingham Palace. There are reports claiming that the heir doesn’t want to stay there, but he has no choice since Buckingham Palace is the home of the reigning monarch.

Prince Edward gets a new title

Prince Edward is one of the low-key royals. His children with Sophie, Countess of Wessex, are not styled with HRH titles.

It is believed that the Earl of Wessex will be given Prince Philip’s title Duke of Edinburgh after Prince Charles’ ascension and Prince Philip’s death.

Camilla becomes Queen Consort

When Prince Charles becomes the new monarch, he can give the Queen Consort title to his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles. A number of royal experts believe that this is possible to happen.

“I think that Prince Charles when king would want his wife’s title to reflect his new status,” royal expert Joe Little said. “When the time comes I think we will have a Queen Camilla.”

Prince William as the new Prince of Wales

When Prince Charles becomes the new monarch, the Duke of Cambridge will take over his current title as the Prince of Wales. This title is given to the heir to the throne, Prince William is second-in-line to the throne and will be the next king after Prince Charles. As of late, Prince William has been ramping up his efforts in preparation for the said role.

Kate Middleton as the new Princess of Wales

The Duchess of Cambridge will also be the new Princess of Wales when Prince Charles becomes king and Prince William becomes the new Prince of Wales. At present, Camilla holds the Princess of Wales title but opted to not use it because it is still strongly associated with Prince Charles’ first wife, Princess Diana.
