Prince William is ramping up his preparations to take over Prince Charles’ role.

According to Nichola Bieber of Daily Star, the Duke of Cambridge will automatically inherit Prince Charles’ title and the $1.3 billion “Duchy of Cornwall” estate, which is a huge portfolio of land and property that provides income to the heir. The Duchy owns 134,000 acres of land in more than 23 countries in the U.K. It generated $25 million last year.

Prince Charles uses this to fund his public charities and private activities. He also uses it to cover Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s expenses.

Prince William has been attending secret meetings ahead of the big change and he just attended his third one for this year, which is the same number he attended in the whole of 2018.

Prince William hosted the last meeting on May 22 at his residence at Kensington Palace. The meeting has been listed in the royal family’s official diary called Court Circular, which shows that Prince William had attended two duchy meetings in 2017 and three in 2018.

As Prince William accelerates his efforts to prepare for his future role, Prince Charles is doing the same and is also preparing himself to become the next monarch. The Prince of Wales has attended a meeting at the Duchy of Lancaster which is the sovereign’s estate.

On Sunday, Prince William celebrated Father’s Day by paying tribute to Prince Charles. The Duke of Cambridge shared two photos on Instagram.

The first one featured him having an adorable moment with his youngest son, Prince Louis. The second snap featured him and Prince Charles walking side by side with a helicopter at the back of them.

However, netizens weren’t happy with Prince William’s choice of photos. Many wondered why Prince George and Princess Charlotte are not included. Several of them also asked why he didn’t post a snap of him with his father-in-law Michael Middleton. One online user made fun of it, saying that Middleton has no father and Prince William has only one child.
