Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's divorce was big news last year. But before the couple confirmed that their split was permanent, there were reports that suggested otherwise. Here’s a look at the biggest debunked story of two celebrities from 2018.

Reports of Aniston and Theroux getting back together started when the latter’s car was found in the actress’ Bel Air home, according to Gossip Cop. Several news outlets, at the time, took this as proof that there is still hope for the couple to be reunited. The only piece of evidence of the possible rekindled romance between the two was the picture of the car. There was no source to confirm that the two celebs were actually giving their relationship another try.

The Jen and Justin relationship wasn’t meant to be. Speaking about the divorce in an interview with New York Times, Theroux said that it was “the most gentle separation.” He also added that there was “no animosity” between the two. He did not comment on whether or not he is dating anyone following their split.

As far as Aniston is concerned, a source told ET Online that the actress is doing well since the split. The source confirmed that she isn’t dating anyone and that she’s “perfectly happy” about it. She apparently got on a new diet that includes eating fruits, whole grains and egg whites. She has also surrounded herself with friends and is focusing on her career.

While the split seems to be final and the two seem to be moving ahead with their lives, rumors about them continue to surface on the internet. Aniston, however, has repeatedly spoken on the issue, and there is no indication that she is ready to date anyone right now.

In a recent interview with Elle, Aniston said that happiness today isn’t the ideal that was created in the 50s. She explained that it is sexist to consider only the women to be “scorned,” “heartbroken” and “spinster,” while the same does not apply to men. The actress feels that it is important to achieve “inner happiness.”

Aniston said that some women are just “built to be wives and have babies.” She, however, isn’t so sure if this comes naturally to her. The actress appeared hopeful about the future when it comes to finding the right partner or having a baby. She pointed out that technology is so advanced these days that people are able to “do things at different times” than what was the norm before.
