It’s the age-old struggle: what should I watch on Netflix tonight? Instead of re-watching your favorite sitcom, check out one of the new movies, series and Halloween specials on Netflix. The service is adding dozens of new titles in October 2020.

What to watch to laugh: Netflix’s October offerings have so many funny titles. Even though “Parks and Recreation” left for Peacock, the streaming giant still has “Schitt’s Creek.” The Emmy-winning sixth and final season debuts Oct. 7.

Meanwhile “Emily in Paris” is the new dramedy from “Sex and the City” and “Younger” boss Darren Starr. The show follows Lily Collins’ American character Emily as she takes a job in the city of love. Plus, Netflix kicks off their Christmas originals with the Emma Roberts film “Holidate.”

What to watch for drama: “Grand Army,” a Netflix TV show, is a coming-of-age high school drama centered on a group of teens in Brooklyn. Netflix is also debuting their highly anticipated adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s classic novel “Rebecca,” starring Lily James and Armie Hammer.

What to watch for reality: Netflix has plenty of original documentaries in October. “Deaf U,” produced by “Dancing With the Stars” alum Nyle DiMarco, follows deaf students at Gallaudet University. “Dick Johnson is Dead” finds a woman and her terminally ill father coming to terms with the inevitable. “BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky” follows the K-pop girl group’s rise to stardom. “David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet” follows the famed broadcaster recounting his life.

What to watch for Halloween thrills: “Vampires vs. the Bronx” is a Netflix original horror-comedy that shows a group of teens protecting their neighborhood from the undead. Netflix is also adding more Halloween favorites in October, including “Cape Fear,” “Along Came a Spider” and “Unfriended.”

What to watch with the family: Though trick-or-treating might not be normal in 2020, kids can still enjoy Halloween programming. “A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting,” “ParaNorman” and “The Magic School Bus Rides Again The Frizz Connection” are our top Netflix picks for the family.
