KEY POINTS

  • Nerfs are coming to Octane, Lifeline and Horizon
  • The Peacekeeper is returning to the normal ground loot pool
  • Triple Take is getting buffed and moved to the Care Package loot table

The end of “Apex Legends” Season 8 is just around the corner and plenty of changes are coming to the game with the advent of Season 9. Aptly dubbed “Legacy,” Season 9 is set to introduce a number of throwbacks to “Titanfall 2” in the form of characters, lore tidbits and the new Arenas mode.

The latest batch of trailers released by Respawn Entertainment has given us all a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming season. Players can dominate the skies with the new legend Valkyrie, turn enemies into pin cushions with the Bocek compound bow and experience a new revamped version of the fan-favorite Olympus map.

There are a few impactful changes that didn’t quite make as big of a splash as these main features. Changes to weapons and legends are on the horizon and a meta-shift might soon be happening

Legend Changes

There are quite a few changes happening to some of the most popular legends in the game, according to Dexerto. Octane and Horizon are getting significant nerfs to their tactical abilities while Lifeline is getting a major rework to her revive passive.

Octane’s Stim ability will now cost more health but will be usable more often. This increases the risk of using Octane’s powerful movement speed boost and tone down his oppressiveness overall. Meanwhile, Horizon’s Gravity Lift is getting nerfs to its speed, mobility and cooldown rate.

Lifeline’s drone will no longer shield allies while reviving, but her heal skill and care package are getting buffed to compensate for this.

Peacekeeper and Triple Take Changes

The Peacekeeper shotgun is returning to the regular ground loot table while the Triple Take will take the shotgun’s place in the Care Package weapon list, according to Dot Esports.

It has been three seasons since the Peacekeeper was last seen as a regular loot drop. The weapon’s regular version will have lower pellet damage but will retain its built-in shotgun choke. On the other hand, the Triple Take will have a faster charge time and will be able to retain its charge level for longer after zooming out.

Kuben Blisk Rumors

Valkyrie’s introduction in Season 9 has all but dispelled the Blisk rumors that have been floating around the internet, but this doesn’t completely rule him out of the equation just yet.

There have been many reports of Blisk and his potential abilities, including one alleged leak that features Blisk summoning an auto-Titan for his ultimate ability.

It’s possible that he might be added in the future, but Respawn might be putting him in the back burner for now as developers focus on new characters first.
