“Gossip Girl” ended in 2012, but it helped launch the careers of quite a few stars. With the announcement of a new version of the show coming to HBO Max, it’s time to look at where the cast is now. One even has a new TV show launching this week.

Blake Lively — The Serena van der Woodsen actress has been sticking to movies since the CW drama finished in 2012. She has starred in “The Shallows,” “Age of Adaline” and “A Simple Favor.” She also married Ryan Reynolds and gave birth to two kids. She is pregnant with her third child.

Leighton Meester — After playing Blair Waldorf, Meester took a variety of different projects from small indie movies such as “Like Sunday, Like Rain” to roles on Broadway with “Of Mice and Men.” Currently, she’s back on TV. She plays Angie D’Amato in ABC’s single-camera sitcom, “Single Parents.” The show will return for Season 2 in the fall. Meester has also become a mom offscreen. She shares a daughter with husband Adam Brody.

Chace Crawford — The Nate Archibald actor returns to TV this Friday with “The Boys” on Amazon Prime. Crawford plays a superhero called The Deep, part of a famous superhero group who gets to do whatever they want — until a new group decides to take on the superhero corruption. Crawford has also been seen in “Blood & Oil,” “Casual” and “I Do…Until I Don’t.”

Penn Badgley — Gossip Girl himself has returned to stalking. Badgley, who played Dan Humphrey, now stars in Netflix’s hit “You,” where he plays a serial killer who gets obsessed with a woman.

Jessica Szhor — The star has worked consistently since playing Vanessa. She appeared in “The Internship” and “Ted 2,” but more recently has been doing plenty of TV work. She recurred as a cool neighbor on “Shameless” and is a series regular on Seth MacFarlane’s “Star Trek”-esque show, “The Orville.”

Taylor Momsen — Though she started acting as a kid, after playing Jenny Humphrey, Momsen mostly retired from acting. She has since focused on her rock band, The Pretty Reckless. They’ve released three full-length albums and are working on a fourth.

Kristen Bell — She was rarely seen on “Gossip Girl,” but these days, the familiar voice is everywhere. This year alone, Bell has been the leading lady in “The Good Place” and “Veronica Mars,” and she’ll reprise her other famous voiceover later this year. She plays Anna again in “Frozen 2.” She admitted to MTV that she has spoken to creator Josh Schwartz about the new “Gossip Girl” show.

Ed Westwick — The Chuck Bass actor has been working in the U.K. recently with roles on shows like “Snatch” and “White Gold.”

Kelly Rutherford — Since playing Lily van der Woodsen, Rutherford has been a TV staple on many shows. Most recently, she’s had roles on “Dynasty” and “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.”

Even supporting actors on the show are doing well. Since playing Carter, Sebastian Stan has since become the Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Katie Cassidy, who played Juliet, is heading into her eighth season of “Arrow.”
