Where was Osama Bin Laden Killed?
Osama Bin Laden was killed by the CIA in a mansion just outside Abbottabad in north-west Pakistan . Obama confirmed that the US has the body of Osama Bin Laden. No Americans were harmed in the operation.
Osama Bin Laden was reportedly residing in a house close to Islamabad. The CIA had launched a military offensive to kill Osama almost 10 years after he arranged the 9/11 attack in 2001. While Osama was killed in the firefight, his wife was taken into custody.
Obama mentioned he made killing Osama bin Laden one of the highest priority on the war against Al-Qaeda clear to CIA director Leon Panetta.
Bin Laden, 54, was a member of a wealthy Saudi family and has been on the FBI's Most Wanted Fugitives List since 1999.
