Jofi Joseph’s reign of Twitter trash talking has officially come to an end.

The White House national security official was fired after it was revealed that he was the man behind a well-known Twitter account that posted numerous insulting and highly controversial comments about the Obama administration’s foreign policy and several White House officials, The Daily Beast reported Tuesday evening. The tweets were all sent as @NatSecWonk -- a fake account he set up to mask his identity.

Joseph, who worked in the non-proliferation section of the White House National Security Council, has been sending the tweets since February 2011. Some of targets of his snide comments include former National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes and Secretary of State John Kerry. The digs ranged from comments on their appearance to even going as far as to question their intellectual abilities, reports The Daily Beast.

Joseph recently worked on the administration's Iran policy. He also worked at the State Department and on Capitol Hill for Sens. Bob Casey, D-Pa., and Joe Biden, before he became vice president, reports Politico.
