With three weeks left, it looks like the Kansas City Chiefs (11-2) have a good chance to get homefield advantage through the AFC playoffs. Despite the franchise’s dubious postseason record since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger, oddsmakers believe in the Chiefs to make it through the AFC gauntlet and play in the Super Bowl, per Vegas Insider.

The Chiefs are betting favorites to win the AFC Championship Game, with 9/5 odds. If the Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers (10-3) on Thursday night, they will be AFC West champions. If they do that and get some help, they could lock up the top seed by Sunday night.

The New England Patriots (9-4) suffered a setback in Miami last week, but oddsmakers have them as the second place favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl with 13/5 odds. The Patriots still have a good chance to secure a playoff bye week, but it is not a certainty at this point.

The Patriots have never made it to the Super Bowl without a playoff bye in the Bill Belichick era.

The Chargers are arguably the most complete team in the AFC, but there is no guarantee they will even win their division. Even still, oddsmakers give them 5/1 odds to win the conference.
